silos_logoNov. 25: Thanksgiving week kicks off Upvalley with a musicians’ open-microphone night at Calistoga Restaurant and Brewery on Lincoln Avenue. Amateurs and professionals alike are welcome to perform from 8:30 p.m. till midnight; (707) 942-4101, www.calistogainn.com. In downtown Napa–where three miles of white lights are twinkling along building roof lines, the First and Third street bridges, and the Riverwalk–you can watch Mayor Jill Techel and Congressman Mike Thompson light a 29-foot tall Christmas tree in Veterans Park, with live entertainment PLUS free cookies and hot chocolate from 6 to 7 p.m. At 6:30, Philip Smith and his all-singing Gentlemen of Jazz play and harmonize at Uva Trattoria till 9:30 p.m. (1040 Clinton St., (707) 255-6646, reservations advised); 7:30 is show time for vocalist Suzi Gilbert and jazz pianist Mike Greensill at Silo’s Jazz Club, till 9 p.m.: $20, Napa River Inn, www.silosjazzclub.com, (707) 251-5833.
